    Buyer beware. I paid in full up front for a wood heater from Abbey. They had the heater I ordered sitting in their warehouse for a week and only finally despatched it to me when I demanded a contact phone number for the business owner and threw a massive tantrum demanding my goods. If I hadnt done that I suspect my goods would still be sitting in their warehouse.

  • Worst purchase in my life from a very dodgey dealer who sold the van with known mechanical issues. I purchased a 2011 VW transporter 12 months ago from them. At first it was using a lot of oil. Our mechanic said it could just be bad oil and replacing the oil could fix the problem. However, after replacing the oil it was still using over 1litre of oil per 1000km! Carrs Cars would have known about this issue as they did over 1000km moving it between dealerships before I purchased the van from them. They would have put oil in it on at least 1 occasion. By the time I had the oil changed we had already owned the van for 3 months and the chance to go to the NSW Fair Trading Commission had passed. We only used the van as a camper, so it was seldom used. Within 5000km of purchasing, it started blowing coolant out of the overflow resivour. The EGR cooler was replaced. The head gasket then went and required a complete engine rebuild. On several occasions we got bogged in car parks! We realized that the 4-motion was not working and it was only a 2WD and the 4-motion valve clutch needed replacing. Upon reflection, we realized the 4-motion had never worked. Within a week of this being repaired it started leaking oil out of the DSG seals. This was repaired and then the turbo went on it. We have only done 8000km since purchasing this van and now spent $14,000 getting it repaired. It has been at the mechanics for around 6 weeks in the 12 months we have owned it. We had this van checked for fault codes before purchasing, but I used the mechanic the Carrs Cars used. I now realise that the van would have had numerous faults that the mechanic deleted and said it was fine. The owner of Carrs Cars was there during this inspection. A stupid mistake made by me. Dodgy dealership who sold a car with known mechanical issues. DO NOT use this dealership - selling us a van at a premium price with such issues has almost pushed us to the point of being broke. We were going to do a trip around Australia in the van but that has been cancelled indefinitely as we have spent our entire trip savings getting the van repaired.
